It’s Fall Y’all! And with that comes so many fun local events! Here’s a list of local Summerville, SC events happening in October so you can mark your calendars and get out and enjoy the cooler weather!

 
 

Meet up at the Knightsville General Store and Cafe for a fun Trunk or Treat time! This one is early in the month so it can help get you into the Halloween Spirit!

Enjoy connecting with local vendors and creators of arts & crafts while the kids get a head start on collecting candy!

Get ready for the exciting Fire Prevention Week kickoff with the Annual Fire Prevention Parade and Display on Monday, October 7, 2024. Hosted by Summerville Fire and Rescue.

The fun starts with a fire truck parade in the Oakbrook area of Summerville at 6:00 PM. The parade route will take the trucks from Midland Parkway to Old Trolley Rd., then onto Main St. through Historic Downtown Summerville, and finally end at the Lowe's Shopping Center in the N. Main Market Shopping Center.

Once the trucks arrive around 6:20 PM, the static display will begin and continue until 8:00 PM. This awesome display will feature fire trucks from across the Lowcountry, offering kids (and adults) the chance to climb on, sit in, and explore the vehicles, along with other fun activities. Don't miss out on the excitement!

If Italian food and culture is your thing then you have to go to the Summerville Italian Feast!

You’ll get to enjoy 108 Craft & Food Vendors and if you are hungry, you will have more than enough options with the 22 food truck who will be attending.

Entertainment by the students from Dorchester District Two will occur from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. Music and other local entertainment will close out the event at 6:00 pm.

Come and learn and dance to the tarantella, taught by the Alegra Dancer.

Dorchester Paws will be there with some four-legged friends.

Face painting is always available for the kids.

The Big Bounce America is the largest touring inflatable event in the world! We’ve created an action-packed day out suitable for all ages and featuring some of the most unique and exciting custom-built inflatable attractions ever made. 

Tickets include 3 hours bounce time and you must purchase tickets in advance for sessions. All ages are welcome but some sessions are have age limits so be sure to check session times and purchase tickets prior to going.

Also, Don’t let the Charleston address fool you…it’s just a quick drive right down Ashley River Road (Hwy 61)!

Join the Oakbrook YMCA for a fun Halloween Event! The whole family is welcome to enjoy a “haunted house”, scarecrows, trunk or treat, face painting, hay rides and more!

Location: Oakbrook YMCA; 900 Crosscreek Dr, Summerville

Save the date for a fun fall evening Ghost Walk. This event is hosted by the Junior Service League of Summerville and benefits their school supply funds for districts DD2 & DD4. Enjoy the ghost walk, a hayride and games. Food trucks and concessions will be present.

Cypress Gardens, normally a place of tranquil beauty, will transform into a haunted creepy swamp just in time for Halloween and you won’t want to miss it. This is probably an event more appropriate for older kids, teens, and adults verses younger children.

Location: Cypress Gardens

Date: October 24th, October 25th, and October 26th 5pm - 8 pm

Cost: $30 for full admission

Nexton Square is the perfect location for a Boo Bash! Mark your calendars and enjoy a live DJ, trunk or treat and lots more family fun! Costumes are highly encouraged so get the family dressed up and head to the square!
